Here Comes the Sun

The bare branches were coated in sparkling frost this morning, but thanks to bright sunshine and a clear blue sky, all that had melted by the afternoon when the temperature nearly hit 50 degrees! Hope does indeed 'spring' eternal.
Of course, we still have a half-foot of snow covering the ground, but 'this too shall pass.'

Could Always be Worse

Looks like March is coming in like a lamb this year. A very COLD lamb, but still - we'll take sunshine whenever we can get it! :-) It's hard to imagine that the corn will be "knee-high by the Fourth of July" in these fields.

Winter Sun

As opposed to yesterday's Arizona sunset sky post, this is what a typical morning looks like around Pewaukee in January. If you click on the image for a larger view and look closely, you can see the faint, tiny outline of the sun trying to break through the clouds in the southeastern horizon of the sky.

Cat Nap

Now that December is here, the winter weather has followed. No major snow yet, but the windchill has settled into the teens and it can get pretty bitter when taking Nik for her final walk of the evening. Phoebe, on the other hand, has the right idea: a litter box in the basement and basking in the sun whenever possible!

SkyWatch Friday: Hazy Days of Summer

A recent sunset over the woods alongside Lindsay Road elicits the warm, lazy, hazy days of summer. We'll enjoy them as long as we can.

Sunset at Stoplight: SkyWatch Friday

I snapped this while waiting at a stoplight on Good Hope Rd. in Menomonee Falls on my way home from work. The sun is always directly in my eyes for my drive home, so I welcome cloudy days sometimes :-) -- But this time the sun was bobbing and weaving in and out of the clouds as it set.
