Buzz-a-buzz-a-buzz-buzz


A large papery hornet's nest, built by the bald-faced hornet, attached to a white pine tree up on the Ryan Road trails. The first photo shows the intact nest late last summer. The one below show how it looks now. Not sure if it was an animal or the wicked Wisconsin winter winds that tore it apart. Both scary and amazing at the same time.

That is a big nest! I wonder if they will return.

I have never seen such a large nest. You're right about scary. Great photos!
